I have worked as a Speech & Language Pathologist in the Public School Sector for 38 years in NY, Vermont and CA and... have witnessed much dysfunction in the parenting realm. The early childhood development years (birth to 7) are crucial for our children's future academic, communication and social/emotional success. I am a parent of 8 children, and I so wish I had been able to take the 0-7 training before I had to "learn by doing". I... also do parent training for parents going through divorce and rely on the concepts from 0-7 for what we tell them...over 20,000 who have now gone through these classes and the most common feedback is "Why didn't I have to take this class before I had kids". We don't license parents (I guess kids aren't as important as cars), but if we did the Parenting Children 0-7 would be the required "Drivers Ed" that every parent should be required to take.
